Guaranteed Coverage and Assistance Programs

Refused Coverage?

Oregon Medical Insurance Pool (OMIP) offers individual health plans to those who have been refused individual health insurance because of their medical conditions. There is no waiting period for treatment of pre-existing conditions for those who had health insurance within 63 days of the start of the new OMIP policy. This is called "creditable coverage." Without creditable coverage, you may have to wait up to six months for insurance coverage of pre-existing conditions. You medically qualify for OMIP is you have one or more specific health conditions. Call or email us for more details and an OMIP quote.

Assistance Programs

If you cannot afford health insurance, the State of Oregon provides several great resources:

  • Family Health Insurance Assistance Program (FHIAP)
FHIAP provides subsidy money to pay for private insurance policies for low-income Oregonians who don't have health insurance or have insurance at work but can't afford to add themselves for their family members to the employers plan.

    The process is simple:
    1. Go to http://www.fhiap.oregon.gov/ to sign up for the program.
    2. Once you're qualified, contact us and we'll help you purchase an insurance plan customized for your needs.
  • Oregon Health Plan
Oregon Health Plan provides limited medical services to unemployed Oregonians. This state-sponsored health insurance program is for children in low-income families.
